I thought you might like an updated picture of us. This is a really recent one.
We're doing a yearbook for the school and here are some pictures of students and staff. This is Eric Speace's homeroom class.
Here is our staff. Back left is Eric Speace, then our secretary Patricia Amaya, then Dale. In front are Maggie and Fausto Cabanos.

Last year Scouts Canada came to the valley and began work on this community center. It was almost done when they left and is now pretty much done.
Some of our students, along with our principal and his wife sang the national anthem for the opening of the center.
The Prime Minister of Belize was there at the opening. His name is Said Musa. He came with bodygaurds and all!

My parents came down for a visit on Jan. 15 and they were able to stay until Feb. 5. We were so happy to have them come. Here the girls are introducing Gramma to chocolate covered bananas YUM!!
This is the sign at the start of the village here in the valley.
My Dad was able to make some much needed parts for the school sewing machines and the girls had a great time as carpenter helpers.

Leah is my little tortilla maker, she does a good job too. We make our own whole wheat tortillas. The corn ones we find a little trickier!
Meet Mia, she's the grandaughter of one of our church members and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Tun.
This is Michelle Tun. She's a friend of Kaylee and Leah's. A friend from Canada sent down some hearing aids for her as she is mostly deaf and they have been a real blessing in her life.
We see this fellow walking the highway all the time and thought we'd get a shot of his designer pants!! Posted by Picasa
There are some really neat trees down here, from absolutely huge to twisted to all kinds of shapes and sizes. Here are a few I think are interesting.

I've never seen a pine like this one!
The mangrove trees are great to snorkel around as they are like a nursery for young fish. Posted by Picasa
Here is a picture of one of our rain storms. This tank holds 1100liters and it was filled in almost no time at all.
Janice is a friend of ours and she is with the girls here beside her Molly apple tree. The blossoms are beautiful and the next picture is a close up of them.

I don't know the name of this flowering tree but I thought it was really pretty. Posted by Picasa
