There are a number of great caves in Belize. This one is about an hour and a half from our place. Once we got inside I turned around and snaped this. It doesn't show it really but we are quite a long ways down from ground level.
Inside was spectacular! It's a huge cave and seems to go on forever! It was really great.
There is an underground river that flows through this particular cave and the ancient Mayan people lived in these caves. They would have been a perfect dwelling place since they were hidden, it was nice and cool, and they had a constant supply of fresh water.
I thought this was a very unique formation.
